How long after LASIK should I not have blurred vision?

Filed under: vision after lasik — admin @ 3:06 pm

I had Lasik surgery 2 days ago and I am seeing much better. However it is not a good as it was with contacts. My perscription was -9 and I had intralace. I can still see well but I mainly notice it when I am driving. I don’t seem to see the highway signs as fast as I usually did. Will it get better?

It takes a few weeks. I had mine in June and sometimes if I’m really tired my vision is still kind of blurry. I would say it took 4-6 weeks though before I could see as well as I could with my glasses. You’ll be so glad you did it very soon!!

can i correct my vision to 20/20 using PRK Laser Eye Surgery even when my contact strength is -7.0?

sorry i dont know my current vision on a 20/20 scale

The answer is: potentially. I have comanaged patients with
-12 and 13 who’ve achieved 20/20 vision. You must be established as a good candidate, though, i.e., having enough corneal tissue to reshape and still maintain the integrity of the physical structure of the eye.

What is the risk of lasik?

Anyone with high degree and asti done lasik and success ?

LASIK eye surgery can perform miracles – it can give you relief from wearing corrective lenses. It can cure nearsightedness, astigmatism and farsightedness. The procedure is quick and painless, offering almost immediate results. And due to advances in technology and the wide demand for this type of service, LASIK is quite economical.

According to FDA reports, nearly 100% of LASIK patients have good results and no complications, but you need to be aware that there are things that can and do go wrong. Some problems include double or triple vision, light distortion so severe that patients can’t drive at night, or eyes so dry that they have to wear goggles when going outside.

Some patients experience infections, inflammation of the eye, redness, blurriness or eye irritation. In many cases, LASIK eye surgery can eliminate your need for corrective lenses, but that’s not always the result. One of the most common complications of LASIK eye surgery is a slipped flap. The flap that was created during the LASIK procedure may become detached from the rest of the cornea.

Even without LASIK eye surgery, it’s expected that everyone’s eyes will change slightly with the passage of time – it’s just a natural part of life. After LASIK, your eyes will still follow their natural course of changing with time, so LASIK shouldn’t necessarily be considered a permanent solution.

For many who have chosen LASIK, it has meant that they are no longer dependent on corrective lenses in order to have good vision. It’s highly recommended that you talk with your doctor about LASIK and how any possible risks or side effects relate to your own personal circumstances.

If you had Lasik done, what were your results?

I had mine done Friday (yesterday) and I was 20/800 before surgery and today I went to the eye doctor and I am 20/20!!
I am so happy! And the only problem I have is dry eyes and that will go away soon!

I had my procedure about 8 yrs ago, my vision is still 20/15. It was so amazing immediately after the procedure I looked at a clock on the wall and I could the second hand! Regarding the dry eyes, the Dr that performed my surgery suggested I use lubricating eye drops and I have my eyes examined every year. Congratulations!

Lasik questions for people who had it or know someone that did?

Filed under: lasik questions — admin @ 3:06 pm

I am considering getting Lasik Surgery. Right now in my life I can afford it so money really isn’t the issue but I am debating on getting it because of possible complications that could occur and would like your thoughts if you had it done or know anyone who has.

The place I would go to uses interlase (no blade). My main concern are long term side effects such as Halos, dry eye and sensitivity to light. I understand that a lot of people experience halos right after but they go away but don’t know percentages in people who do have side effects long term.

What are your thoughts on having this procedure?

I lost an eye from that operation! However I have a crystal clear vision from the other, so I would say go for it…

I’m just kidding Lasik is a safe procedure.

It just annoys me that people are afraid of it (since it is one of the safest operations currently) while they don’t have second thoughts for breast implants, for instance

I spend at least 8 hours in front of a monitor due to work, will that be a problem if I get Lasik done?

Had my lasiks done 7 years ago, best thing I ever did. Don’t have any problems with the computer.

Anyone had an IOL implated or Lasik for sever myopia?

Filed under: lasik myopia — admin @ 3:06 pm

My Rx is -12 and -10.75 (nearsightedness/ severe myopia) Yes, I have a stigmatism in both eyes. I’m 23 & have called around to all the Doctors but am hesitant to be screened because I’m scared I’ll be told I’m just not a candidate.

Lasik seems to run about 4000$ in my area.
IOL/ICL implants run about 9000-10000$ and also run the risk of needing additional lasik at a reduced cost of 700-1000$ an eye for adjustments.
I know what myopia is, I know how bad my Rx is, I know what each surgery entails… but I can’t find real life information from people that have been there.

I would prefer lasik but I think my Rx is too severe and that I wont have enough cornea to be able to remove as much as I need.

**anyone w/ severe myopia that has had either of these corrective procedures have any advice or stories to share?**

I do not know of anyone who has been treated for myopia as severe as yours. I found a website where a person with a similar situation describes how he had it treated and the results.

I hope this helps.

Lasik eye surgery questions?

Filed under: lasik financing — admin @ 3:06 pm

I have worn contacts since I was fourteen years of age, I am no nineteen. I have tried to wear glasses and they looked cute on me, exept for the astigmatism that I have in my right eye which prevents me from wearing them due to the pain the frame causes on the right eye even if its a comfortable frame. I jumped right to contacts when I found that glasses would’nt work, and now after five years, it is getting to the point where they just hurt really bad, they burn, dry up, and I strain my eyes with them, so I have been keeping them out. Now I feel Lasik would be my only other option, and I was just wondering what the payment options are out there for Lasik, everybody tells me credit or finance companys, the person who is thinking of getting me Lasik for Christmas says that do to no credit they only option they would have would be to make the downpayment and then pay the surgery off monthly like a time payment plan, but without the use of credit or finace companys. Does anybody know of the various payment options out there for Lakik? something that does’nt involve those two things? I have searched the internet but can find nothing, I am going to college next year and this would really benefit me.
Thanks.

I am not sure why your right eye is in pain from an astigmatic correction.
Anyway, to qualify for Lasik Surgery, your prescription must remain stable for approximately 2 years, if not your eyes will continue to change after the surgery. So, you must verify that with your Optometrist, before setting up an appointment with the Lasik Clinic.
If you are a good candidate for the surgery, you can arrange the financing through the Lasik Clinic that will be performing the surgery.
About your contacts…Try switching to a different brand of cleaning solutions or switch to disposables if you cannot have the surgery right away.

Am I a good candidate for lasik?

Filed under: lasik candidate — admin @ 3:06 pm

My vision is extremely bad. In each eye I am a -10.50 and it seems to steadily get worse each year. I am also only 22.
I am asking anyone out there who is experienced with Lasik ( performs the surgeries or has had it before, or anyone really) am I a good candidate for this surgery or too much risk? I am so tired of glasses and contacts and would really like another option.

Thanks!!

Should just ask your ophthalmologist for the green light. You might have an underlying eye problem that you are unaware of.

I myself am not a candidate for lasik because of glaucoma. My eye doctor informed me that in order to perform lasik on me he would have to increase the pressure into the 50’s which would further damage my optic nerve.

laser eye surgery.anyone managed to get a good discount?playing one off against the other?

ive just been given a standard price and been ok’d for the surgery.looking for tips to get the price down.
im not suggesting going to the cheapest place, only going to go to optical express or ultralase.ive found out people who have surgery with optical express get vouchers giving them 50 pounds cashback.but the vouchers also give me 50 pounds off as well.people give the vouchers away for free on ebay.!!

yeah. there is this place called "joe’s gas station & Laser eye surgery". If you buy a full tank of gas, they give you laser eye surgery for free. You could go blind but then if you do go blind, you can save money on light bulbs.
