are there any natural ways to reduce myopia or near sightedness?

Filed under: lasik myopia — admin @ 8:11 pm

without using lasik or contacts? what if you just stopped using glasses/ contacts? would your eyes adapt?

Your eyes would not naturally adapt and get normal. Myopia is caused by an "unnatural" eye shape that improperly focuses light before the retina. Glasses and contacts refocus the light, and surgery reshapes the eye.

Some experiments have been made using a pin hole device. Put pin holes in cardboard. Hold the cardboard over your eyes and look through the pin holes.

You may immediately see more clearly through the pin holes. Extended use is said to retrain the eye and improve myopic patients. I can’t attest to this. I went the surgery route.

How well proven is the technique of replacing eyes’ lenses by synthetic ones as a cure for myopia?

Filed under: lasik myopia — admin @ 7:10 pm

I’m 45, with fairly stable powers of around -9 in both eyes. My doc advices that in my case lens replacement is preferable to Lasik since it prevents cataract possibility also. But is this method proven? By the way, can a natural lens be so easily replaced by synthetic lens?

In reverse order,
Yes, it’s essentially standard cataract surgery, which is about as safe as it gets, but that doesn’t mean totally safe.

The method is very established.
The alternate is to have an anterior chamber *additional* implant ("Insertable contact lens").
This preserves whatever accommodation is still present, but does leave future cataract to be dealt with should it arise.

If you have the lens *replacement* surgery, you are faced with the additional decision of whether to opt for multifocal implants trying to obtain adequate (good if you’re lucky!) distance and near vision without glasses, or single vision implants with a probable better single focus but the inevitability of glasses for reading
(unless you are desk-bound, or an avid reader or craftsman, in which you can choose the reverse, with glasses for driving and television.)

As a high myope (up to -14.25) aged 51, I’m planning to hang on a few more years (as I still have some useful accommodation) and then have surgery for lens replacement, with single-vision implants. I haven’t decided whether the target Rx wil be -2.50 or zero. I’m not convinced by multifocal implants as yet. I have large pupils and night glare would annoy me intensely.

Is there any eye treatments for someone with myopia ?

I suffer myopia, can you show me the way to reduce it as fast as possible without LASIK surgery ??

Try Dr. Richard Schulze’s eyewash formula..This is meant to be used in the eye (saw demonstrated on his save your life video–with sam Biser) not in the bathwater as he says in the catolog..legally he is not allowed to suggest putting in your eye. but that is the only way it will work. Biser said they got more responses to that than anything published in his newsletter.

Thousands wrote they had been cured of all types of eye problems including some even with blindness.(diabetic retinopathy, cateracts, glacoma)..don’t let the cayenne in it scare you. It only slightly stings a few minutes and will not harm the eye…I’ve used it before. It works with the traditional eye herbs and the cayenne bringing circulation to the eye and pushing out the toxins.

First pioneered by Dr. John R. Christopher who tells of curing a blind infant with NO optic nerve whose parents were told the child would never see.

When Dr. Schultz (who trained under Christopher and other well known natural healers) saw the baby crawling and picking up colored scraps of paper and chasing balls, he became a total believer in natural healing and went on to operate an underground clinic for 20 years healing many of incurable illnesses via his "incurable program"…ist pioneereed by
Christopher and later inproved on with many dying patientsd by Schulze. He uppep Christopher’s cayenne and has demonstrated using tinctures with 1000 x’s more cayenne than the one he sells to demonstrate there is no damage done to the eye.

You can get it by calling Schulze’s company (1-800-herbdoc). Be sure to request receiving huge and informative catolog and free newsletter.

Also see the book "Bates method for better eyesight" (this may work better with youngsters than adults but may be worth a shot.

my eyesight power is -3.5(myopia) in both eyes.. will i be a good candidate for LASIK procedure?

Filed under: lasik myopia — admin @ 3:58 am

if your eyesight remain constant for may be more than 1 year or not fluctuating or changing then u can go for it as i had done Lasik before 8 months ..its like u wont even come to know while being operated.it was just for 9 minutes.(depends on your eyesight power).
first you consult your eye specialist .he/she will decide after some check -up and all that..
so good luck…

Nancy LASIK for -10 D 2 weeks ago

Nancy was a LASIK canidate despite her very high myopia, -10 D, because her cornea was thick enough and we used the Intralase which allowed us to create a thin flap and a Visx laser which removes less tissue. Most patiens above -10 D are better candidates for the Staar Visian (ICL) implant rather than LASIK

Is there a cure for myopia?

Filed under: lasik myopia — admin @ 1:17 pm

Is it possible to improve eyesight naturally? If not, does lasik surgery cure myopia forever? Is it very expensive? I have myopia -2 and I hate using conatcts evcery day!

There is no natural cure. There might be only natural prevention, before myopia develops. Some studies have shown that children who spend more time outside in natural light are much less likely to develop myopia than children who spend a lot of time inside.

Once myopia develops, then Lasik surgery is the only cure. And information about the costs and the risks of it you can find here:

Is there any other procedure for correcting myopia other then the usual lasik?

Filed under: lasik myopia — admin @ 5:39 am

I heard that there is a new procedure that does not involve the use of laser and the procedure is reversible. I just can’t seem to find out what it’s called.

There’s the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens or the Verisyse Intraocular Lens. Visian ICL is the newer one – shorter surgery time, no sutures involved, lens is more flexible than Verisyse lens. Both procedures correct -3.00 diopters of nearsightedness to -20.00 diopters of nearsightedness.

In either procedure, a contact lens is implanted in the eye. If your vision changes, the surgeon can remove the lens and replace it with a different lens RX.

Can i have Lasik surgery after cataract removal?

Filed under: lasik myopia — admin @ 12:03 am

I have high myopia -7.5 in right eye n -9.5 in left.also i have cataract in my left eye.now i want to get my cataract removed n also correct my vision.so will they implant vision correcting lens after removing cataract.what is the recovery period?
Also if i want to go for lasik for my right eye what is the time line when i’ll be able to see clearly after lasik?

Shouldn’t be necessary, the ophthalmologist will put in a lens that should bring you close to normal vision. Of course you will lack the accomodation of the natural lens so you can only be focused for near or distance vision in each eye.
The recovery period is very short. You should be able to see pretty well right after the operation, and be back to normal within a couple days. You will have some restrictions on activities while the eye continues to heal for a few weeks.
