Lasik questions for people who had it or know someone that did?

I am considering getting Lasik Surgery. Right now in my life I can afford it so money really isn’t the issue but I am debating on getting it because of possible complications that could occur and would like your thoughts if you had it done or know anyone who has.

The place I would go to uses interlase (no blade). My main concern are long term side effects such as Halos, dry eye and sensitivity to light. I understand that a lot of people experience halos right after but they go away but don’t know percentages in people who do have side effects long term.

What are your thoughts on having this procedure?

I lost an eye from that operation! However I have a crystal clear vision from the other, so I would say go for it…

I’m just kidding Lasik is a safe procedure.

It just annoys me that people are afraid of it (since it is one of the safest operations currently) while they don’t have second thoughts for breast implants, for instance

  1. I drove a friend to her appointments and she has had no problems at all. She is now happy because she doesn’t have to deal with contacts anymore. I’d say go for it.

  3. I know two people that have had it. Sensitivity to light is a symptom both had. Both still use reading glasses, but they were extremely farsighted to begin with. The dry eye was a problem for one, but went away after a month.
